Backing up Office 365

Moving to Microsoft Office 365 platform is a great way to enable your staff flexibility to work anywhere, but also for the saving it has on hardware.

But while there is many advantages of migrating to Office 365, there is a side that is not explained and that is that Microsoft does not provide the sort of backup of your emails in Exchange, SharePoint / OneDrive that are going to provide your business with the service you need if you ever need to recover data.

What if someone accidentally deletes or overwrites a file? How do you make sure business-critical cloud information isn’t tied to the person who created it? When employees leave the company, can you prevent their files and information from leaving with them?

Also what happens if you get Crypto Locker and your files get locked – do you have a backup to restore from?

Office 365 is a challenging environment to backup. The old ways of accessing and protecting data are gone and now many IT providers need to adapt to a constant changing environment as Microsoft adds more features to the platform.
