2018 – The Year of Cyber-Security

As 2017 comes to a close with Christmas just around the corner, there are many things 2018 is predicted to bring to the IT table.

Namely, a lot more ransomware, encrypted files and other yet to be seen cyber-attacks.

This is one area of IT that is not going to take a break.

So while festivities are in full swing, keep in mind that you will need to be extra vigilant coming into 2018.

There are plenty of Vendors stepping up to the security ring, but none more than SonicWall with their Advanced Threat Capture technology and Deep Packet Inspection giving businesses a multilayered approach to email & web security.

Cyber threats are evolving rapidly from mass spam attacks to advanced forms of targeted attacks and making sure your network is protected should be a priority.

Email threats are ever growing and delivery is becoming more and more complex. Here is just a few of what businesses are now facing:

  • Malware
  • Ransomware
  • Phishing
  • Spear Phishing / Whaling
  • Business Email Compromise / CEO Fraud / Impostor email
  • Spam
  • Outbound Email Hijacking

If you plan to do nothing else in 2018 but protect your business with a multi-layered security strategy, then it is a step in the right direction.
